A Call for Participation
“To care is neither conservative nor radical. It is a form of consciousness.”—John Ralston Saul

Callie and Sara Domek, Two Sisters from Cora would like to welcome you to the online site of the Heart of Sublette County; a community art project they are coordinating in their home of Sublette County, Wyoming. The purpose of this project is to engage the community of Sublette County (and the surrounding areas), to share perspectives on the heart of an ecological and human community that is bearing witness to the changes brought by recent large-scale expansion of oil and natural gas development. We are calling all artists at all levels, ages, skills and abilities to share stories, film, poems, visual artwork, dance, music, and any other creative talent to express what life in Sublette County means.

The specific goals of this community art project include:
· Holding an open festival in Pinedale, Wyoming on July 19, 2008 where participants present their visual, musical, literary, and other creative work,
· After this event, the pieces will become part of a traveling art exhibit, visiting communities throughout Sublette County and western Wyoming through the autumn months. The traveling exhibit will communicate the importance of sense of place with the greater community of Wyoming, because the changes seen in Sublette County do have wide-reaching effects, and have brought new challenges to other areas in Wyoming as well.
· In addition to the festival and traveling exhibit, we will compile the contributions and artists’ statements in an exhibition booklet that will be available to the public, also sharing the purpose and vision of the project.

We would love to hear from you! If you are interested in participating in the Heart or if you want more information about this project, please contact the Two Sisters from Cora:
